For many military veterans, adjusting to civilian life can be difficult, or devastating. Gaining employment in todays job market is difficult for individuals with college educations. For vets with only military training, finding a job can be almost impossible. There has been some initiatives by the government, such as in the healthcare business, to provide jobs to vets. But, this doesn’t fix the overall problem.
The Department of Veteran Affairs goes to great strides to provide these prior military personnel with basic needs for them to survive. There are also health care facilities through though the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System that can provide medical treatment for these individuals. This system provides dental care, extended care with home nursing visits, and 24 hour emergency department services.
The troubles of war era veterans can be difficult to handle. Services like those offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs is often the only resource and support these individuals have.
