Veterans Green Jobs Gets $100,000 – Employment Being Offered For Vets In the Denver Area

Some veterans in Denver may have the opportunity to find employment through Veterans Green Jobs. The organization has received $100,000 from the Denver Department Of Human Services to help low income and homeless vets find a job.

The Veterans Green Job association is a non-profit organization that offers information and job opportunities. The also offer training and hands-on experience, directly employ vets, off business and entrepreneurial opportunities, and are creating a national job placement model.

Through a transitional work program, 10 qualifying vets will have the first opportunity to began work on a low-income residential weatherization program in Denver and Jefferson County. Thesis individuals will receive on the job training with career counseling for long-term employment in a green jobs environment. Referral services for transportation, housing, and job placement assistance will also be included.

Veterans Green Jobs was founded in 2008 and has a focus on service transition, outreach, recruitment, enterprise opportunities, education and training for veterans.
